L.O. To use plan an engaging story

Homework book, blue pen and green pen.

Don’t forget to complete the ‘Start Quiz’. Record your score in your Homework book.

Then, scroll up to the top of the page and click ‘Next Activity’.

Word of the day (clambered) – Pause the video once the word of the day is introduced. Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences and find synonyms and antonyms.

Spellings- Note down the spellings, (also available on the school website) and learn them using Look, Cover, Write and Check. Ensure you know the meaning of each word and try to use them in your writing or in a sentence. You will send your score on Friday, after the test, to your teacher via I am Learning.

Continue the video, pausing when needed to answer Mr Fozzard’s questions.

When you click onto the worksheet, the first slide asks you to watch a video of the story being read – you need access to do this (which we don’t have). But don’t worry – you don’t need it!

Instead, use the slides to help you to plan your story.

We will be asking you to complete this story to the best of your abilities – using all that have learnt about stories so far… so do your best.  Once you have finished your plan, if you want to start drafting it you can. You will have tomorrow’s lesson too – but may want to give some time in the afternoon to help to complete it too.

We will expect you to complete a first draft, then take time to edit and improve your writing, before copying it into best and sending a copy to school (details to follow).  This will need to be done by Tuesday next week, and we would expect between 2-4 sides of A4 for your story.

Don’t forget to complete the final quiz and record your score (out of 13).  Remember to send your score to your teacher tomorrow too.
