LO

L.O. To identify punctuation for parenthesis.

Resources

Homework book, blue pen and green pen.

Instructions

Don’t forget to complete the ‘Start Quiz’. Record your score in your Homework book.

Then, scroll up to the top of the page and click ‘Next Activity’.

Word of the day (nourishment) – Pause the video once the word of the day is introduced. Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences and find synonyms and antonyms.

Spellings- Note down the spellings, (also available on the school website) and learn them using Look, Cover, Write and Check. Choose one or more of the methods suggested in the video to practise your spellings.

Continue the video, pausing when needed to answer Mr Fozzard’s questions.

INDEPENDENT TASK-

There are two independent tasks in today’s lesson. Mr Fozzard will tell you when to pause the video to complete part of the independent tasks.

For the first part of task 1, write the sentences in your book and identify the parenthesis. You could underline it with a pencil and ruler.

For the second part of task 1, write the sentences in your book. If the parenthesis has been used incorrectly, correct it.

Task 2 – Pause the video and research the life cycle of a plant or animal. Create a flow diagram to record your research. This will help you to write your explanation text tomorrow. You might also like to print/draw a small image of the plant or animal to use in your explanation text.

If you would like to see a larger version of the tasks, pause and close the video and go to slides 2-5.

Don’t forget to complete the final quiz and record your score (out of 7).
