L.O. To use cohesive devices in a biography.

Instructions

First, complete the quiz. Record your score in your Homework book. Then, scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

 

Spellings - Complete the spelling test and write down your score (out of 8). Practise any words that you did not spell correctly and ask an adult to retest you on Monday.

 

Word of the day (subsequently) – Pause the video once the word of the day is introduced. Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences. Find synonyms and antonyms for the word.

 

INDEPENDENT TASK –

Write - Mr Fozzard will recap the structural features of a biography. He will then share an example introduction. When he says, pause the video and draft the introduction to your biography. Remember to refer back to the success criteria and the notes you made yesterday. It is important that you do not copy your research. You should be putting the information into your own words. Resume the video to complete the other sections of the biography (early life, key events during their life, later life, legacy/future and interesting facts).

Edit and up-level – Pause the video when the success criteria is displayed. Recap the key features then read and edit your biography in green pen. Did you include all of the key features? Did you use a range of cohesive devices? Proof-read for spelling/punctuation errors and edit vocabulary.
