LO

L.O. to identify the features of a leaflet

Resources (including
exercise book being used)

Homework book, blue pen and green pen.

Instructions

Click ‘Start Lesson’ then ‘Start Quiz’. First, complete the quiz. This is to show what you already know so don’t worry if you find some questions tricky. Record your score in your Homework book. Then, scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

Read these instructions then watch the video, the teacher will explain to when to pause.

Complete all work in your Homework book under your Date and LO not on a sheet of paper. You can reply to the teacher out loud just like a real lesson! When it says to, write your answer in your book then mark in green pen when the teacher tells you the answer.

Word of the day – Pause the video once the word of the day is introduced. Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences – don’t use the same ones given in the video please.

Spellings – Remember to keep practising spellings and use them, when you can, in your writing.

Features of a leaflet (structural and grammatical) – ensure you first have a go at listing what you think the features are, then add to your list with any features you missed.

INDEPENDENT TASK- Listen to the explanation and then pause the video. Scroll up to the top of the page and click ‘Next Activity’ click through the slides until you see the independent task (should be larger than on the video). You can mentally number the boxes from 1- 16 and write the features into books or you may choose to copy the section the arrow is pointing to. Complete the task in your Homework book. Then, resume the video by scrolling up to the top of the page and selecting resume and mark your work in green pen.

Once the video is finished please close it. Then, click ‘Next Activity’. You should see ‘Start Quiz’ complete the quiz. Record your score (out of 9) in your Homework book then send your English and Maths score to your class teacher when you send your ‘Good Morning’ message on I Am Learning tomorrow.

INDEPENDENT TASK – tomorrow, you will be asked to start planning your own leaflet for somewhere. This could be where you live, somewhere you like to go to on holiday or somewhere that interests you.  I would like you to do this planning and research today so that you can have longer to write and edit your work.  As part of your plan, you should include possible sub-headings, reasons people would want to visit, interesting facts as well as vocabulary choices you might want to use.
