LO

LO: to write a persuasive letter.

Resources

English book, blue pen, green pen, pencil, ruler.

Instructions

First, complete the knowledge quiz. Record your score in your English book.

Then, scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

Read these instructions then watch the video, the teacher will explain to when to pause. Complete all work in your English book under your Date and LO not on a sheet of paper. Remember worksheets can be seen on the ‘Slides’ page.

The lesson starts with your spelling test. This is additional spelling work to your normal spelling test which will still be on Friday.  Mark your spelling test in green pen.

Independent Activity- Listen to the explanation and then pause the video and close the video. Please write the letter in your English book. No more than a page of A4 quality writing is enough for this task.

Task 1: Go onto the next slide where there is a breakdown of you tasks (after the video slide).

Slides 1 – 5 show an example of a letter that you can use to help you with your own writing.

Slide 6 show examples of good vocabulary that you can use in your own letter.

Slide 7 is the success criteria (what you need to include in your letter by the end).

Slides 8 -11 show what you need to include in each paragraph and some sentence starters.

Slide 14 shows an example of sentences with sections missing for you to complete if you are struggling to write it independently.

Task 2 Edit: Please click ‘back’ to the video and watch the next part of the task which is called ‘Improvements.’ This part of the lesson requires you to edit and improve you writing. Remember to use pencil and ruler to cross out errors and green pen to make any corrections.

There is no ‘exit quiz’ for this lesson.
