LO: To write a persuasive rap

English book, blue pen, green pen, pencil, ruler

First, complete the knowledge quiz. Record your score in your English book.

Then, scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

Read these instructions then watch the video, the teacher will explain to when to pause. Complete all work in your English book under your Date and LO not on a sheet of paper. Remember to mark any work you can in green pen.

Spellings: The spelling test will be the first part of your lesson. This is in addition to our normal Tuesday test.

If you want to listen to the Year 4 teachers’ rap again, go onto Slide 2. The school children’s rap is on Slide 3.

Independent Activity- Listen to the explanation and then pause the video and close the video.

Go onto the activity slides, Slide 6 shows your task today.

Slides 7 to 13 give you ideas and vocabulary to help you write. You must try to include the elements of persuasive writing (Slide 13)

Aim to write for 20-30 minutes. Make sure you are in a quiet space and use a timer if it helps you concentrate. When you have finished, spend at least 15 minutes editing your rap thinking about: capital letters, punctuation and spelling.

On Slide 14, there is a backing track which you can play then perform your rap over the top!

Challenge: Use some of the focus words you have learnt this week in your rap: drastic, global, recycle, sustainable, deforestation

There is no quiz for today’s lesson. Make sure you share your rap with somebody at home. You can always type up a verse and send it to your class teacher via I Am Learning.
