When the video starts, you will be asked to complete the spelling test. Complete this in your English book under your Date and LO, not on a sheet of paper. Please mark your spelling test in green pen and record it in your English book. Please send your score to your class teacher on I Am Learning.


When the teacher shares the WAGOLL, pause the video and magpie in your English book any good vocabulary that you might wish to use today.

Word of the day – Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences.



Planning – pause the video when asked and find 5 items in your house that you could use to catch the dragon. Create your plan: think about the title and your introduction (could include rhetorical questions).


Listen to the teacher explain how she has planned her text and watch her begin to create her set of instructions. Then click Next Activity’ and go through the slides.

In your English book, write your set of instructions about how to capture the dragon. Remember to refer back to the slides and use the success criteria. You might be able to challenge yourself to also include some parenthesis (something that we looked at previously in grammar). It is really important to write neatly and join some of your letters too. When you have finished, read your instructions aloud and check that your spelling, grammar and punctuation is accurate.


There is no quiz to complete but please remember to send your spelling score to your teacher on I Am Learning. You may want to share some of your super sentences from your set of instructions too. We are really looking forward to reading some. J
