L.O. to think about the author’s choice of language.

Homework book, blue pen and green pen.

Read these instructions then watch the video, the teacher will explain to when to pause.

Complete all work in your Homework book under your Date and LO not on a sheet of paper.

Click ‘Start Lesson’ then ‘Start Quiz’. First, complete the quiz. This is to show what you already know so don’t worry if you find some questions tricky. Record your score in your Homework book.

Then, scroll up to the top of the page and click ‘Next Activity’.

Word of the day – Pause the video once the word of the day is introduced. Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences and find synonyms and antonyms.

After reading the excerpt – there are two practise questions.  Pause the video and have a go at answering them.  When you have answered them, continue watching and mark your answers.

Don’t forget to have a go at the ‘Your Turn’ questions too.

INDEPENDENT TASK - Write out the questions into your Homework books then read the extract. Answer the questions then resume the video to mark your work.

Spellings- Note down the spellings, (also available on the school website) and learn them using Look, Cover, Write and Check. Ensure you know the meaning of each word and try to use them in your writing or in a sentence.

Once the video is finished please close it. Then, click ‘Next Activity’. You should see ‘Start Quiz’ complete the quiz.  Again, there is an error with the spelling question – so record your score out of 4.

Record your score in your Homework book (out of 4) then send your English and Math score to your class teacher when you send your ‘Good Morning’ message on I Am Learning on Wednesday
