Read these instructions then watch the video, the teacher will explain to when to pause. Complete all work in your English book under your Date and LO not on a sheet of paper. Remember to mark any work you can in green pen.

Spellings: The spelling test will be the first part of your lesson. Mark answers. This is in addition to our normal Tuesday test.

Word of the Day:   Monotonous.

Text: (Slides 2-4) Read through the text to magpie ideas for your writing. Then look at interesting facts.

Independent Activity (Slides 5 - 14)- Listen to the explanation. Firstly, think about key questions and key headings about your creature, look at the mind maps the teacher has created, could you use any of these? What does it look like? Where does it live? What features does it have? What does it eat? What are its personality traits? After each mind map make some notes in your English book about your creature. (remember they does not have to be one of the teacher’s ideas it could be your own idea!) then pause the video. Remember, as you write, to replay information from the video if you need to. The vocabulary list and the ‘To be successful section’ are particularly useful.

Now plan, and write your character description.

After you have finished, continue video and check the success criteria and complete any editing in green pen you need to do to make your writing better.

Send your teacher the sentences which you think best describe your creature.
