English book, blue pen, pencil, ruler and green pen.


If you have access to a printer and someone at home can show you how to screen shot the worksheets, then you can print this out but please remember to follow the presentation rules for gluing sheets into your book.



Non-Chronological report: a non-fiction piece of writing which is not written in time order. It gives information about a specific topic.


Click ‘Start Lesson’. There is no start quiz for this lesson.


Read these instructions then watch the video. The teacher will explain when to pause. Complete all work in your English book under your Date and LO, not on a sheet of paper.


Word of the day – Pause the video once the word of the day is introduced. Write the word and meaning into your book then use the word in two different sentences and find synonyms and antonyms (as we have done in school).


When it says ‘Your turn’ write your answer in your book then mark in green pen when the teacher tells you the answer.


INDEPENDENT TASK- Listen to the explanation and then pause the video and close the video. Click ‘Next Activity’. Slides 16-20 show the non-chronological report ‘The Griffin’.  Slides 38-53 show the questions that you need to answer in your book. Mark your answers neatly in green pen. When you resume the video, the teacher will also go through the answers.


Spellings - This is additional spelling work to your normal spelling test.


Again, click ‘Next Activity’ and complete the ‘Final Quiz’. Record your score in your English book then send your English and Maths score to your class teacher when you send your ‘Good Morning’ message on I Am Learning tomorrow.
