To explore the meaning of words.

Resources

(including  exercise book being used) English book, blue pen, green pen, pencil, ruler

Instructions

Write the date and LO in your English book.

 

Click ‘Start Lesson’ then ‘Start Quiz’. First, complete the quiz. This is to show what you remember about yesterday’s work. Record your score in your English book.

Then, scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

Read these instructions then watch the video, the teacher will explain to when to pause. Complete all work in your English book under your Date and LO not on a sheet of paper. You can reply to the teacher out loud just like a real lesson! When it says ‘Your turn’ write your answer in your book then mark in green pen when the teacher tells you the answer.

 

Write down the word of the day in your book, its word class and the definition. E.g. Run, Verb, move at a speed faster than a walk.

 

INDEPENDENT TASK- Listen to the explanation and then pause the video and close the video. Scroll up to the top of the page and click ‘Next Activity’ click through the slides until you see Comprehension - Word meaning. Read through the two pages of text twice (click through the slides). Then answer the questions in your book. Remember to write in full sentences e.g. for question 1 – The word that suggests her designs had lots of information is _____.

Then, resume the video by scrolling up to the top of the page and selecting resume and mark your work in green pen.

 

Spellings- This is additional spelling work to your normal spelling test which will still be on a Friday.

 

Again, click ‘Next Activity’. You should see ‘Start Quiz’ complete the quiz. Record your score in your English book then send your score to your class teacher using I Am Learning tomorrow morning.
