LO: to learn about texture in art

Instructions

READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW BEFORE CLICKING ON THE LINK. While we are getting used to this website, our instructions will be longer to make sure you understand what to do. By the end of next week, you will be experts so our instructions will be much shorter.

Click ‘Start Lesson.’ Normally you will have a quiz to do but in this lesson you are not required to complete one. When you are ready, play the video.

Watch the video, the teacher will explain when to pause. Normally, you will be completing your work in your Maths or English book but since this is an Art lesson, you will complete the activity on a piece of A4 paper. You can reply to the teacher out loud just like a real lesson!

Independent tasks – After each section you will be given a task to complete by your teacher. The teacher will go through instructions on how to create a frottage patchwork. Please watch this through and you can pause it whenever you like or rewind if you need to. A larger version of the instructions for your independent task is also provided on the next page – click ‘Next Activity’ to see this. She will then show you how to fold the paper. Once you have folded the paper, it doesn’t need to look exactly the same as hers as long as you have different sections. It also doesn’t need to be A4, if you would like less sections then that’s fine. Please make sure that you ask an adult at home first before taking items to use for your frottage. You then have the option to include finishing touches to your frottage patchwork if you would like. To assess your work, you will then be asked to think about what went well and what you could improve on. Just think about this, you don’t need to write this down.

On most lessons there will be a quiz but again as this is an Art lesson, there isn’t one. When you do come across a lesson and there is a quiz, please click on ‘Next lesson’ and start the quiz (there will be more details about this next week). We will ask that you send your score to your teacher on I Am Learning.

Please Note: We have added a suggested timetable onto our distance learning page for you follow if it helps you to organise your day. You do not have to follow these times – talk to an adult at home to decide what will work best for you. If you are following your own timetable, we have added a time in brackets which is a guideline to show how long each activity might take.

Grammar (40 minutes) –

Mark KS2 English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling ‘Linking ideas in paragraphs’ p.26-27 You will find the answers at the top of this page. Use your green pen to mark and edit your answers.

 

This week, we have been focusing on how to build cohesion in our writing. Log into your account on Spag.com and complete the task ‘Linking ideas and cohesion A’.

 

Reading (30 minutes) –

Mark your reading task from yesterday key word definitions. You will find the answers at the top of this page. Use your green pen to mark and edit your answers.

 

Read the poem ‘The Listeners’ again. What is the rhyming pattern in this poem? Find any rhyming words. Then practise reading the poem aloud. Think about the tone of your voice and how you can engage the listener. Try to learn a part of the poem off-by-heart – a few lines maybe. Perform the poem to someone at home.

 

Spelling (20 minutes) –

Follow the link below. Select year 5&6 then click on book number 3 to revise some of the spellings from our word list.

Mark your Arithmetic work from yesterday – Square Numbers.

Maths (1 hour) –

Mark your Maths work from yesterday – Square and Cube Numbers. You will find the answers at the top of this page. Please mark answers neatly in green pen and correct any errors.

 

Complete ‘Prime and Composite Numbers’ on I am Learning. Please make sure that you watch the lesson video first before answering the questions.
