Art (1 ½ hours)

45 minutes - research

Use the internet or any books you may have at home to research an artist of your choice. You can pick from any of the following five artists:

Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Kandinsky, Georgia O’Keefe

For 45 minutes make notes on either a Microsoft Word document or by writing in a spare notebook or on lined paper. Include facts about the artist such as -

  • Their name/birthplace/where they grew up/schooling/early years
  • During what period of art was this artist most famous?
  • Their art style/what makes them a unique artist
  • Their most famous art pieces
  • Interesting facts
  • How does their art make you feel?
  • Their Legacy to the art world

45 minutes

Create a fact file on plain paper based on the above information. Use a title, sub-headings, fact boxes, indented paragraphs and bullet points. You could also recreate one of their famous art pieces on your fact file. Make sure it is colourful and factually accurate. Write in blue pen but you may add colour in pictures or in the title. There is an example of a fact file about Picasso for you to look at. There is also a template providing an idea for the layout of your information.

Votes for Schools (30 minutes)

Well done for all of your hard work.

Have a lovely weekend.
