Half-term Homework

Year 4 - well done for a fantastic Half-Term!

We are really impressed with how you have come back to school and taken all of the changes in your stride.

It has been a long half-term, and there are lots of tired people ready for a good rest over the break - it is really important that you do this! Make sure you are well rested and ready to learn when you come back to school.

For homework,  you have some more spellings to learn (I have added the Autumn 2 spellings to the website now too).

It is also really important you keep working on your times tables (you are due to have the times table assessment later in Year 4).

Keep going on Times Table Rockstars, I have also added some times table games to iamLearning and there is a link to 'Hit the Button' too - which is a fun game to help you to speed up too.

There are LOTS of iamLearning tasks on the website, they are revision topics.  You must complete at least 4 tasks.  You will not be expected to have completed them all (but you can if you want to).

Don't forget to keep reading too.  After half-term, we will be sharing news about how our reading scheme will work this year, so you will have extra things to read then.

Optional homework (You can choose whether you attempt them or not)

In English this week, we have written our own versions of 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe'. Some of you have really enjoyed your story ideas and might want to continue your writing.  We would love to see your hard work when you come back to school.

You may even want to repeat the activity - but think of a new setting (maybe Lucy could find herself on Mars, or under the sea... )

You might want to write a diary of your half-term. You might not be able to get out and about as much as normal this Half-Term, but you could write a review of any films you watch, help out cooking dinner, or even do some arts and crafts.

I have also added a link to The Literacy Shed - this website has some brilliant story prompts if you feel like being an author!
