L.O. To solve and represent decimal problems.

Pencil, ruler, green pen, Maths book.

First, click start lesson and then start quiz. Complete the knowledge quiz (out of 4) and click submit. Record your score in your Maths book. Then, ‘Close Quiz’ and scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

Watch the video, the teacher will explain when to pause so you can complete an activity. The teacher will show you some examples of how to solve word problems related to decimals by using bar models. Pause the video when it says ‘your turn’ and have a go at completing the word problem by using the same strategy – bar models. Remember you can write down your working out in your maths book. Jotting down notes as you go will help you. Once you have written down your answer, resume watching the video and mark your answer in green pen.

Main Activity (Independent task): Pause the video and click on ‘Next Activity’ to see a larger version of your task. There are four questions in total. When you have completed the questions, resume the video and mark your answers carefully using green pen.

When the video has finished, close the video and click ‘Next Activity’. Complete the exit quiz by pressing ‘Start Quiz’ and record your score (out of 6) in your Maths book. Please send your English and Maths score to your class teacher when you send your ‘Good Morning’ message on I Am Learning tomorrow.
