LO: To solve weight problems

Resources

Pencil, ruler, green pen, Maths book.

Instructions

First, complete the knowledge quiz and record the score in your exercise book.

Then, ‘Close Quiz’ and scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.

 

Watch the video, the teacher will explain when to pause to complete an activity. Remember worksheets can be seen on the ‘Slides’ page.

Warm up

Optional as long as you are completing Times table Rock Stars.

First Activty

Matching up the pairs of weights. (Slide 3) (Remember 1Kg = 1000g). In your book, write the matching pairs. Then, resume the video to check answers.

Main Activity:   

Follow the teacher for guidance. Then pause the video, complete the question, then play the video for your answers.

Main Task: Think about how many grams you will need in total. To do this, you will need to convert 2.6 kg to grams. It may be helpful  to use a table or write list of calculations to help you organise your ideas. 

Then restart the video and mark any calculations you can.

 

Challenge Task (Slide 5):

If you are feeling confident, complete the challenge task in kg and g  then restart the video for answers.

When you have completed this task stop the video and click ‘Next Activity’ and take the exit quiz by pressing ‘Start Quiz’. Complete the quiz and record your score in your Maths book and send your English and Maths score to your class teacher when you send your ‘Good Morning’ message on I Am Learning tomorrow.

 

If you would like some more challenges on measure, 3 optional tasks have been set on My Maths for you to have a go at over the week. You can complete these on any day this week as they will be available until Friday.
