LO: To develop strategies to solve measurement problems.


Pencil, ruler, green pen, Maths book, counters (or small objects you can use to count with).



First, complete the knowledge quiz and record the score in your exercise book.

Then, ‘Close Quiz’ and scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.


Watch the video, the teacher will explain when to pause to complete an activity. Remember worksheets can be seen on the ‘Slides’ page.

Remember to mark all work in green pen.

To Start (Slide 1) - Complete the number trees. Mr Critchlow will show you how it works and how to go about your calculations.  Then, mark your answers.

Moving on  (Slide 2) - Now solve the number sequences. Be careful with the decimal points.

Then, mark your answers.


Main Activity Part 1: Draw the cm part of the table in your book and convert from ms to cms.  Then, mark your answers.

Main Activity Part 2: Answer the questions based on the information in the table. (Be careful with the unit of measurement being given) Then, mark your answers.

Main Activity Part 3: Time problems. Work out the times of each clock then put them in the correct order ion your book. Check answers. Then answer the time problems (part 2). Use counting on or number lines.  Just write down the answers. Check answers and mark in green pen.

Money Game (Slide 4) Optional : Play the game. Try to find someone to play with you at home if you can. Listen to and read the instructions.


When you have completed this task stop the video and click ‘Next Activity’ and take the exit quiz by pressing ‘Start Quiz’. Complete the quiz and record your score in your Maths book and send your English and Maths score to your class teacher when you send your ‘Good Morning’ message on I Am Learning next Monday.
