LO: To describe unit and non-unit fractions |
Resources |
(including exercise book being used) Pencil, ruler, green pen, Maths book, some resources e.g. lego, Cuisenaire rods (search internet for ‘online Cuisenaire rods’) - https://nrich.maths.org/4348 |
Instructions |
First, complete the knowledge quiz. This is to show what you already know so don’t worry if you find some questions tricky. Record your score in your Maths book. Then, ‘Close Quiz’ and scroll up to the top of the page then click ‘Next Activity’.
Watch the video, the teacher will explain when to pause to complete an activity. Complete all work (including warm ups) in your Maths book under your Date and LO, not on a sheet of paper. When it says ‘Your turn’, you can pause the video and have a go at showing the different relationships between unit and non-unit fractions using the Cuisenaire rods https://nrich.maths.org/4348.
Do not complete the quiz! Instead, log onto I Am Learning and complete the ‘Finding Fractions’ task. We know you may have completed this task last week but we are asking you to complete it again after this week’s learning. This will help your teacher to see how well you have understood this work on fractions. |
