Good morning Year 4!
We hope you are all feeling well-rested after your half-term break! Let your class teacher know what you did over the holiday.
Remember, your first job everyday is to send a 'Good Morning' message to your class teacher on I Am Learning by 10 am. This counts as your register mark and is the same as saying 'yes' to the register in school. This must be the first thing you do before beginning any lessons including Oak National Academy.
If you run out of space in any exercise books (orange Maths or yellow English book), please ask an adult to contact the office to arrange to pick up a new one.
We are continuing to use Oak National Academy for Maths and English. Remember, first complete the quiz. Then, watch the video and complete the activities. Detailed instructions will be added to the 'Maths' and 'English' links daily.
Practise your handwriting by copying and completing the activities below in your beige notebook.
You should write any sentences using joined handwriting.

Watch the video then read the information:
Forces are just pushes and pulls in a particular direction. Forces are shown by arrows in diagrams. The direction of the arrow shows the direction in which the force is acting. The bigger the arrow, the bigger the force.
If two forces are balanced, it means the forces are the same size but are acting in opposite directions. If two balanced forces are acting on an object, that object will not change its motion. If it is still, the object will stay still or if it is moving, it will continue moving in the same direction and at the same speed.
When two forces acting on an object are not equal in size, we say that they are unbalanced forces. Unbalanced forces do change the way something is moving. They can make objects start to move, speed up, slow down or change direction.
Click on the activity at the bottom of the page. You are asked to drag the correct arrows into the boxes.
