L.O. To find the lowest common multiple.

Resources (including
exercise book being used)

Maths book, pencil, green pen and ruler.

Instructions

Write your date and LO in your Maths book, then complete the Introductory quiz. This is to show what you already know so don’t worry if you find some questions tricky. Record your score in your Maths book. Then, click ‘Next Activity’.

 

As you go through the video pause at the appropriate times and complete the tasks set your teacher.

 

1m 25sWarm up – draw the rods in your book and label each with its value.

 

3m 55s Lowest common multiple – Copy the diagram and the multiples in your book. Then write a definition of the lowest common multiple. When the definition is given, check and edit.

 

7m 11s Practise. Copy the rods and mutliples into your book and use as a revision aid.

 

7m 25s Quick check -  Find the lowest common multiple.

 

9m 45s Develop learning - Copy the diagram into your books and set different values. Find the lowest common multiples and explore. Record what you notice in your book. Continue watching for more support.  

 

14m 04s Develep learning further – find three pairs of numbers with a LCM of 20. Continue watching for support. You are then asked whether you agree with the statement on the slide. Write the statement in your book and explain why you agree/disagree.

 

19m Always, sometimes, never – write the statements in your book and decide if they are true or false.

 

Please complete all of the questions you are asked to complete during the video.  There should be workings out and/or explanations in your books.

 

INDEPENDENT TASK – Once the video has finished, close it and click ‘next activity’. Answer the questions on the slides then mark your work.

 

Complete the ‘Final quiz’ and record your score (out of 5).
