We know that you love to read! Below, you will find some resources to help you continue reading over summer.

Reading is a really important skill that will help you in all subjects. In Year 4, you will be expected to read for longer periods of time independently so this is a great skill to work on over the summer break. You should aim to read for at least 15 minutes each day. It doesn't matter whether you read a book, a magazine, a newspaper or read digitally on an e-reader or app this still counts as reading!
You should also still practise reading aloud. Make sure you think about how you can use the punctuation in the text and your understanding of the characters' feelings to change the tone and expression of your voice.

You will still have access to Oxford Owl if you want to continue to read books on this platform.

Following the link to the Library page below will take you to information about how to join Walsall Libraries. They have a fantastic online resource where you can loan and reserve lots of different books. If you are not a member of Walsall Libraries, an adult can join on your behalf online.

It is free to borrow books and they are regularly adding new eBooks and audio books.

Year 3 Reading List- Some books you may have already read in school but there are lots of ideas for fiction and non-fiction books you may enjoy!
