Music (1 hour)

Listen to ‘Make You Feel My Love’ by Bob Dylan, sung by Adele (you listened to this last week).

Listen to ‘Make You Feel My Love’ – the Bob Dylan version.

As you listen, think about the following -

  1. Do you like the song?
  2. What is the style of this music? Is it Pop/Rock/Blues/Gospel/Ballad/R&B/Rap/Soul?
  3. What can you hear?

Think about the vocal line: how many singers? Male/female?

The backing/accompaniment: how many instruments? Which ones?

Which instruments play the solo?

The tempo: is it fast, slow or inbetween?

The dynamics: is the music loud, quiet or inbetween?

How is this version similar or different to Adele’s version?

Which version do you prefer? Why?

When you have listened to the music and considered your thoughts to the questions above, read the information in the document below.
