Virtual Sports Day

Virtual Sports Day

**Have a look at your class page section of the website for which challenges the teachers at school have been doing. Can you beat their score?

Usually in the Summer term, we would be spending time preparing for our annual Sports Day and this year will be no different. However, we do have to be safe and responsible so this year we are going online!

There are 8 personal challenges for you to complete at home (please see end of page). If you are in school, we will be doing something different to celebrate Sports Day but if you still want to complete the challenges at home then go ahead!

You will complete the challenges WC 29.06.20. You will have all of that week to complete the challenges. You may want to do a few a day or all of them in one day – it’s up to you!

We encourage all of you to send us your pictures via the school office email and make sure you do as this is how you will gain points for your house. We will also give out certificates for best Sports Boy and Girl for each class. The more pictures you send, the more points you will receive for your house! Even if you are only able to send in one activity, it is still worth taking part as every little counts.

To help the office staff, please only send in your pictures and results on the set day for your year group. You will find the dates below:

Year Group

Year 3

Tuesday 7th July

Year 4

Wednesday 8th July

Year 5

Thursday 9th July

Year 6

Friday 10th July

If you miss this deadline, then your scores will unfortunately not be counted so make sure you plan ahead.

Instructions for emails

  1. Please address your teacher in the email. Include your class and house colour.
  2. Include your full name.
  3. Attach any pictures to the email.
  4. Please include which challenges you’ve completed and how many you managed to get done in the given time etc.
  5. Make it clear in the email if you don’t want your pictures on the website.

Remember to wear your PE kit or house colours – plain tops without branding and slogans are best!

If you and your family organise your own ‘mini’ Sports Day where you compete against each other then we would love to see this too! This may include races such as hoop race, skipping, sack race etc.

We can’t wait to find out how you all get on and have fun!

Health and Safety

Please make sure that you ask permission from an adult before you complete any challenges and that you wear suitable clothing and shoes.

If you are finding the plank difficult then you could do a downward dog yoga pose instead (see picture below.)
