At Park Hall Junior Academy, we aim to support children to - 
- Develop the necessary skills to critique, evaluate and test their ideas/products and the work of others.
- Learn about how things work, learning to design and make functional products for particular purposes and

   users.
- Inspire a generation of designers, craft makers, digital programmers, engineers and architects.

Our Design and Technology curriculum encourages all children to use their creativity and imagination to design and make products. It enables them to create a range of structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems and food products with a real life purpose using real life skills. Following the National Curriculum guidelines, children are taught to design, make and evaluate products as well as using and applying the technical knowledge needed for these tasks. Design and Technology inspires children to learn to think and intervene creatively to solve problems both as individuals and as members of a team.

The children are given opportunities to reflect on and evaluate past and present design technology, its uses and its effectiveness and are encouraged to be innovative and risk-takers.
