PE and Sport Premium

Park Hall Junior Academy – Centrally Funded PE and Sports

Purpose of the funding -

The money must be spent on improving the provision of PE and sport although schools are free to decide the best way to accomplish this within their own environment.

Possible uses of the funding include:

  • Hiring specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work alongside primary teachers when teaching PE
  • New or additional sport clubs
  • Paying for professional development opportunities in PE/sport
  • Providing cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE/sport
  • Running sport competitions, or increasing participation in the school games
  • Buying quality assured professional development modules or material for PE/sport
  • Providing places for pupils on after school sport clubs and residential visits
  • Providing extra swimming lessons for the least able

Our use of the funding

We are committed to ensure that this funding is used to support extension of our current good provision and to building sustainable staff development in training, partnerships and developing PE and Sports through initiatives and resources.

The award has been used to –

  • maintain and develop our current provision;

  • further develop our partnership with Streetly Academy, Walsall Council and other Walsall schools (staff development and league competition);

  • enhance training for staff to develop sustainability;

  • increase our current provision to develop high impact activities to support our aims to improve levels of activity in all of our children.

    This is in addition to our well developed PE and Sport Curriculum, delivered during the school day and to our current extra-curricular activities, clubs, league games, competitions and our 5 day residential experience offered in Year 6. This also enriches the schools work with the Heights and Weights Team, who gather information on Y4 and Y6 children.
