Our Art and Design curriculum intends to give all children the opportunities to develop and extend their skills using a range of media and materials. It engages their creativity, inspires them and equips them with the understanding and skills needed to explore, create and evaluate artwork.
Art contributes to children’s personal development in originality, independence, judgement and self-reflection, which links to our school values. We aim to increase pupils’ confidence and creativity while at our school.
By following the National Curriculum guidelines, we hope to enable children to know more about art, the diverse range of artists they learn about, use and apply this knowledge in their own artwork and continue developing their skills throughout their academic career.
